A plaid tablecloth in the Maine, a bright mix of navy, blue, yellow, and green on white. Handwoven from 100% cotton by artisans in Chiapas, Mexico, and finished with a knotted tassel edge.
The line running down the middle is a decorative hand-stitched center seam, and it is there because a handloom can only weave so wide. Two panels are woven separately and joined by hand, which is why the seam is finished as a feature rather than hidden. On a set table it lands under the centerpiece and reads as a deliberate stripe.
This is a summer plaid rather than a winter one. The yellow is what does it: it keeps the navy from going nautical-uniform and makes the whole cloth read like a lake house porch in July.
Perfect for: summer dinner parties, outdoor entertaining, lake and beach house tables, 4th of July, spring lunches, and everyday dining.
