Party Crackers

Party crackers are a small piece of theater laid at every place setting. One pull, a snap, and out comes a paper crown and a small surprise. Christmas crackers are where the tradition began, though ours run through birthdays, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Easter, and New Year's Eve as well, because any table worth setting is worth a little anticipation.

Party crackers, sometimes called Christmas poppers or table crackers, are the piece of the table setting that turns dinner into an event. Each one is pulled apart between two guests, snaps open, and gives up a paper crown and a small surprise. Set one at every place and the whole table is doing the same thing at the same moment.

Our Christmas crackers run from traditional plaid and velvet bow designs to nutcracker, gingerbread, and reindeer prints, alongside collaborations that suit a more considered holiday table. Thanksgiving crackers carry turkey and wheat motifs for a harvest setting, and we stock floral and gingham designs for Easter, champagne bottles for New Year's Eve, and firecracker prints for the fourth of July.

Buying for a dinner? Count one per seat, since a cracker needs two hands to open but belongs to one place setting. Most designs come six or eight to a box, so a table of ten needs two.

FAQs

A party cracker is a decorated cardboard tube placed at each seat, pulled apart between two people at the table. A small strip inside makes a snapping sound as it opens, and the contents spill out, usually a folded paper crown and a little trinket. They are a British Christmas tradition that has spread to Thanksgiving, Easter, and New Year's tables, and are also called Christmas poppers or table crackers.

One per guest. Even though it takes two people to pull one open, each cracker belongs to a single place setting, so count seats rather than pairs. Most of our designs come six or eight to a box, so a table of ten needs two boxes with a couple held back for anyone who arrives unannounced.

No, though Christmas is where the tradition started. We carry crackers for Thanksgiving with turkey and wheat motifs, floral and gingham designs for Easter, champagne bottle styles for New Year's Eve and celebrations, and firecracker prints for the fourth of July. Anywhere people sit down to a set table, a cracker earns its place.
