PINK PEPPERMINT CHRISTMAS PARTY IDEAS & DECORATIONS

If you’re party planning for a Christmas fête this year, consider adding a twist of peppermint. Why is peppermint associated with winter and Christmas, you ask? Well, according to some (aka Google), the original candy cane was shaped like a shepherd's staff and was all white. Candy canes didn’t get their classic red striping for sometime after, and no one can say why.

Why peppermint is a winter favorite is also uncertain, yet it is everywhere–from hot cocoa toppings, peppermint bark, candy cane lollipops, and even peppermint popcorn! Regardless of the why, we are delighted to celebrate the candy cane's cultural significance with a special pink peppermint party. Read on for holiday hosting tips and our favorite peppermint Christmas decorations.

Peppermint Christmas-themed parties call for peppermint candy balloons! We love the look of a crème de menthe halo using red and white balloons with candy-stripe foil balloons filled with air. Balloons add a level of whimsy to any celebration, so they’re wonderful for Christmas parties. You can easily get a similar look to a balloon installation by using bunches of holiday balloons.

Since this party is pink and white and red all over, we picked a floral arrangement in a similar color scheme. Contrary to popular belief, floral centerpieces aren’t exclusive to the warmer months. In fact, they’re even more essential to liven things up when the weather outside is frightful.

We recommend choosing a variety of red and white flowers (red roses are a Christmas classic) and layering cranberry sprays throughout. You can even spruce it up with a hand painted Santa die-cut accent as we did here. They come in a set of ten, so you can use the remaining accents as party invitations or wrapping paper tags.

From pink nutcracker cookie jars to candy stripe vases, there are plenty of ways to display your arrangements. In this instance, we created a whimsical centerpiece with various sizes of vases, glass candles, and present decorations. Feel free to swap in some pastel pink and purple flowers for an eye-catching effect!

The perfect peppermint tablescape calls for scallops, bows, and candy cane accents. Start with a pink and red placemat and table runner. Then, add our Signature Christmas Peppermint Candy Plates and Red & Pink Present Napkins. Complete the look with pink cutlery and bow cups, en voila!

If you're looking to add a candy cane twist, these scalloped candy cane plates and our Cherry Red Signature plates make a perfect pairing. Be sure to sweeten things up with a pink candy cane table runner!

You can’t throw a peppermint holiday party without peppermint hot chocolate, which means cocoa cups are a must!

We recommend serving your cocoa with a variety of mix-in options like peppermint patties, mini marshmallows, and candy cane sprinkles.

If your party still doesn't feel sweet enough, you can never go wrong with serving pink cupcakes or donuts embellished with peppermint accents. We suggest displaying them on a cute striped platter alongside some bow treat boxes so your guests can take them home!

An essential part of any peppermint fête is a picturesque pink Christmas tree. We recommend donning yours with candy cane wreaths, sparkly bows, and lots of pink Christmas ornaments!
