To get this party poppin’, we decorated with lots and lots of balloons in various shapes, colors, and sizes. But perhaps the most important balloon in this bunch is the iconic shiny red fire truck.
We love making link balloon garlands for any birthday celebration, so we also DIY’d and draped one in red, white, and blue. And to finish off our big batch of balloons, we incorporated a couple of jumbos, and a classic blue foil “1” balloon.
Another must-have decoration for this birthday idea is our colorful party fan set. These sets are the best because they’re inexpensive and look fantastic hung on a wall, or propped up on a table. And, these particular fans are extra fabulous because they have different color and pattern options on each side. So versatile!
Now let’s talk about this fire tableware collection! When it comes to 1st birthday party supplies, it’s best to go with paper products to keep things simple and stress-free. We layered our Oui Party classic Happy Birthday plates under these Meri Meri firetruck die cut plates for a bit of dimension, then added a few bright red cups, blue sprinkled napkins, and eco-friendly bamboo cutlery.
And don’t forget the table runner! This striped runner perfectly ties all the colors together and brightens up the entire party setting. We also got a little crafty with it, and cut a few runners to DIY a stylish backdrop. Gotta love those easy do-it-yourself birthday party ideas!
No baby’s first birthday is complete without a little smashing cake action. We went with a colorful funfetti birthday cake to match the rest of the decor; and it made a brilliant centerpiece at the beginning of the party, and then an adorable mess at the end!

Magical One: Baby Girl Birthday Theme
Now, onto a one-derful theme for your birthday girl! This party idea is all about rainbows, cakes, and smiles. And the best part is, the Oui Party party supplies we used for the firetruck party works beautifully here as well.
The most eye-catching element of this rainbow party is the spectacular balloon backdrop. If you haven’t already noticed, balloons are a Bonjour Fête staple for kids' birthdays. This installation was done by our talented friends at Pop Park City, but it’s definitely DIY-able with lots of link balloons and strong craft tape.
We’re always looking for ways we can layer our decorations, so we put those party fans to good use again here. We’re obsessed with this display, and the best part is that it makes the perfect backdrop for all of those memorable first birthday photos with your friends and family!
Little girls love anything bright and colorful, so this tableware collection is a one year old’s dream! We rolled out that same striped table runner, and paired it with these fabulous rainbow plates. For other accents, we recommend pink sprinkle napkins, cups, reusable straws and cutlery. We also ran our Oui Party present banner down the table for a little layering that pops!
One of our favorite parts of this picture-perfect party are the striped mini party hats with pom poms on top. They make cute table decorations, and even cuter b-day accessories. Hand them out as party favors along with a few poppers and sparklers for the ultimate birthday bash send-off!
Naturally, we had to include another stunning celebration cake. For that big wow-factor, we topped ours off with our Oui Party Happy Birthday cake topper and tapered candles in various sizes. Quick party tip: Alternate some extra tall candles with some smaller ones to elevate the entire look of the cake. More candles means more birthday wishes, right?
